The NAPTA Awards were established in 2001 to formally recognize and celebrate the talent seen in amateur theatre productions within the Northern region. Participating society productions are judged and awards presented at the annual awards evening. The event is attended by over 300 people each year and features entertainment by performers from the region, a three course meal and of course, the announcement of the category winners.
